DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION & ICONOGRAPHY

Like many digital designers, I started out drawing. My mom likes to tell the story of how she told my high school art teacher I was born with a pencil in my hand. His response? Well, that must have hurt! --[Pause for laughter]-- I do love to draw in pencil, especially colored pencil and pastels. I like to paint - primarily in watercolor. I also enjoy creating abstract pen and ink illustrations. Many of my digital illustrations begin as sketches to brainstorm ideas of form. I use Adobe Illustrator for most of my digital illustration work. I work in a variety of styles, depending on what the project requires and if there are brand guidelines.

To create effective iconography, illustration skill comes in handy. Inspiration for icons come from everywhere, and being able to design or edit concepts into the style required for a project is key. Check out this array of icons I've made in a variety of styles, from an array of inspiration.
